Gads, an AE system. I went away on a trip and left on old AE program on
remote for a couple of friends in 1987 and when I came back there was an
AE system running in my old programs place. He had U/L it and waited for
the system to rebot. That is how Apple Elite II started and bacame a GBBS
system, now I own the rights to it and plan on keeping it alive. There are
a number of system still up. For the most part they are private systems
used for schools, usergroups and even a couple of businesses that use them
for support of their products.  I am even working on an update to the
program which will have an external editor that breaks the old 3k limit.
