There are programs that can run a Commodore 1541 or 1571 5.25" disk drive
from a Windows 95 PC.

These drives are intelligent.  Apple drives are not, so the PC can't run
them off the parallel port this way without extra hardware.

However, the Commodore drives might be able to read Apple disks.  Has
anyone investigated this option?  The Spartan II+ emulator for the
Commodore 64 included software and a mod that allowed the 1541 to
read and write Apple II GCR disks.
