It is used to determine what signals are output on the 15-pin video
port. IIRC, in the LCD position, th Laser outputs raw signals capable of
driving a //c-compatible LCD panel. In the "NO LCD" position, the port
can output RGB signals directly compatible with both analog (//gs) or
digital (IBM CGA) monitors.
