  We fixed this problem several years ago at our freenet.  Ask your
sysadmin to add .shk, .SHK, .bxy, .BXY as binaries in their mime-types
file.  Any unknown extensions are automatically treated as text transfers
so Binscii'ed stuff is usually fine.

   Shareware Solutions II featured an article on this problem several
years back, just after we fixed our file - would have saved us a lot of
head scratching if the article had come out first. ;-)
