Take a little ball of modeling clay and place it near the chip. Install the 
drive and then see how high the clay ball is and compare it to the distance 
you need for the chip and socket.


Another good source for this chip is early Mac motherboards. I beleive that 
it was used up through the mac Plus. It is also used on the UniDisk 3.5 drive 
card
