Apple Data Modem 2400

Does anyone have this modem in a brick?  It is supposed to do MNP1-5.
I got it along with a Platinum IIe for US$26.  However, I received no
manuals for it.

Specifically, I need to know what the extra serial port on the back is
for (a passthru?).  If anyone has a manual for it, I would like to
talk about getting a photocopy.
