If it is non-daisychainable, then it is either a Macintosh 800k drive
or a Laser 800k drive (the non daisychain model).  Both don't
work with the IIGS port.  You need a Universal Disk Controller
(UDC) card made by Video Technology (manufacturer of Laser
hardware and computers).  The previous owner probably HAS
such a card int he system (since you have the drive on the IIGS).

Look inside the IIGS case.  Find the UDC card.  Connect the
800k drive to this card rather than the back of the 5.25 drive.
That should solve your problem.

Any monitor that works on the IIGS, the Amiga 1000, or the
Atari ST series will work with the IIGS port.  It is 15khz
analog RGB.
