//gs questions
I recently aquired an Apple //gs and I am trying to get it working.
The system has an internal 20MB drive and an external 5.25 uniDisk (if I
remember the name correctly) and an 800K 3.5 floppy (non-daisy
chainable).
I can get the system to boot from the HD with no problem and the 5.25
disk appears to work OK. The 800K drive is giving me problems though.
Is there an order to daisy chain the drives?
The system sez that it is booting ProDOS8 v 1.8. If I cannot get the
800K disk working is there an easy way to upgrade to GO/OS 6.01? Can I
use LocalTalk to copy files to my //gs from one of my Macs?
Does anyone know of a good and/or cheap source of documentation for the
//gs. This beast is considerably different than my old Apple][.
One more question.... I am looking to hook up a color monitor to the
system and am looking for info on the //gs video connector. Will an
Apple /// monitor work? I have a Panasonic monitor which supports the
Apple /// (among others) I would like to use.
Sorry for the rambling.
