I'm sure others will speak up as well, but this method won't work.
An 800k formatted floppy, whether ProDOS or HFS, uses GCR encoding
which the MFM 3.5" floppy drive on the PC is incapable or reading or
writing.
If the IIgs in question has a high density 3.5" floppy of some sort
(using a PC floppy with BlueDisk card, a SuperDrive or compatible with
SuperDrive controller or compatible, a SCSI floptical, etc.) then
they could use this method if they use 1.44 MB HFS formatted disks.
They could possibly do it with 1.44 MB ProDOS disks and a PC program
called ProCopy but I can't remember if ProCopy can write to ProDOS
disks or not.
