Questions about a IIgs....

I just bought a IIgs after seeing them and desiring them for a couple of
years.  Of course, it has no manuals, no disks and such.

I have, however, been collecting a few oidds and ends here and there for it so
I have a monitor (12" RGB) and a couple of floppy drives (3.5/5.25).  However,
I still have a few questions.....

Inside there are four expansion cards:  
Memory Expansion (Apple)
"Firmware ID" Card (third party)
A "Sandwich" card (??)
A Super Serial Card (Apple)

I can guess what the Super Serial card is.  WHat in the blooming heck are the
rest of these things?!?!?!

Also, how can I create System disks from the Apple web site?  I do have a Mac.
So, perhaps I could run an emulator?  Let me know. Thanks
