    I was being serious. BeatBox, which has been available for the 
past 3-4 years, supports playback of 8 voice MOD files. Digging up
the 'read.me' files that came with it, it supports MMD0 (MEDv2.10,
OctoMED 2.0+), MMD1 (MED v3.20, OctoMED Pro), Protracker, Noise-
Tracker, StarTrekker 4, FastTracker (6 and 8 tracks) as well as a
couple of other rare formats. It also supports GS specific MOD
formats--like Soundsmith, Megatracker and NoiseTracker GS.

    You can download it from most of the Apple II FTP sites out
there, though you should know only an alpha version exists and
it never was (or will be) completed. Still quite usable, making
it and ShellPlay the best MOD player available on the IIgs (it
makes MODZap, soniqTracker and NoiseTracker GS obsolite, that's
for sure).
