Hmmm, good question. From what I remember, it only supported
true Smartport devices ("intelligent" ones, like the UniDisk 3.5
and floppy port hardisks) so that would leave out the Apple 5.25,
UniDisk 5.25, DuoDisk, Disk IIc external, Disk II and compatibles.
I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure you were required to
use a separate 5.25 controller for 5.25 drives. I can confirm
this is definitely true of the SuperDrive controller, successor
to the Liron card.
