Re: First Impressions of "iMAC"
In a previous article, shack@onyx.southwind.net (Randy Shackelford) says:

I would believe that! The one thing that the iMac has going for it, is
that it is not an intimidating machine and it is a plug in and use machine.
The bad thing is, as of yesterday, the only availiable options were Epson
printers (2 models) and a combo floppy disk that does 1.44meg and 120 meg
disks. To me, thats a severe limiting factor.
My dad <also a GS user> likes the iMac for its ease of OS <as opposed to
Win98> and thinks for him wouldm be an easier learning curve <I agree>
but dislikes the options area for it. He wants something easy to use <it
is>, small footprint <it does>, and wants an HP Office Jet to keep it all
small <it doesnt have an USB option yet> which leaves the iMac in a
precariously vulnerable position.
Now the only other question is whether the iMac is friendly with cable
modems that use an ethernet hookup and nobody has been able to answer
that question yet.

I wouldn't exactly call the iMac a whale, more like a minnow :)

I couldn't agree with you more!
