Shreve Systems - Beware!

A word of warning about Shreve Systems:

I bought a case from them advertised on their web page for my Newton. I
called ahead and asked if it fit my Newton (MP2000). The salesman assured me
it would. I asked for a model number for the case and he said "just send
your Newton model number when you order it and we'll get the right one".

A week later, I got a case for a 110/120 (Calise). It was so marked on the
outside of the case. I called them and said that they sent me the wrong
case. The salesman said "Oops, we didn't realize that they didn't fit the
2x00 series until they went out, you'll have to talk to Customer Service.
The salesman refused to transfer me on the 800 number, I had to call back "on
my own dime".

Okay, I called them. The *lovely* customer service rep said, "Okay, no
problem, just ship the case back to us at your expense and we'll refund your
money...less the 15% restocking fee (!!?!) Okay, guys, I called ahead to
make sure it fit, I wrote on my note to you I wanted a case for an MP2x00
series when I sent the payment (including the shipping fees to me), and NOW
you want ME to pay to ship it back to YOU at MY expense, AND you're going to
charge me a RESTOCKING FEE for YOUR mistake. I don't think so...I want all
my money back.	You didn't ship what I explicitly ordered, and the shipping
back should be on you...after all, it WAS your mistake. The *lovely*
customer service rep declined to reimburse me.	She said, under Louisiana
law, she was not REQUIRED to reimburse me, and those were Shreve's policies.
Repeated telephone calls to Richard Harold, the owner of Shreve, were not
returned. I even tried to get it to fit, but it was just too big.

To make a long story short, this is now with the Louisiana Attorney General's
consumer affairs office, The Oklahoma Attorney General's consumer affairs
office, The Postal Inspector's Mail Fraud unit, the Shreveport Better
Business Bureau, and if this does not solve it, I am fully prepared to file
suit against them. They have a serious Customer service issue with their
firm, and I'm sick and tired of being pushed around by vendors that ship
inadequate merchandise. Since this experience, I've heard "stay away"
rumblings all over the 'net about this company.

So "Caveat Emptor", my friends. *I* will never do business with this
firm again, and I would be interested in hearing from others that have
had similar experiences with Shreve. If you have a horror story about Shreve,
please write me at Xgmoody2X@XhotmailX.Xcom (Remove the Xs from the email
address)

Regards,

Gary
