Slightly you say? I can give you some real world performance benchmarks Eric
Shepherd sent me some days ago. A full build of Wolfy 3D on a 10 MHz Zipped
IIgs required about 1 hour and 40 minutes. The same compilation took Bernie
running on SheepShaver running on BeOS around 2 (two) minutes! Some
call this slightly faster and some call it 50 times faster... :-)

Yes, sound and video emulation eats some resources, but it's a fixed amount.
For example on a fast G3, you will hardly notice any difference in speed
when running Bernie with or without sound emulation.
