A+ magazine (I think... it could have been inCider, but it was
definitely before their merger) had program that would allow you to play
Ensoniq music through a BASIC program.  Included was how to create a
simple sound sampling device out of a Radio Shack intercom, plugging
into the internal molex connector pins.

It uses an assembly module to load the waveform and play the music (comes
with Happy Birthday).  Somewhere I have a modified version which lets
you create your own waveforms by formula and/or by hand and write new
songs.

It will use each oscillator independently rather than paired and let you
use all 32.  As is though I don't think it would be suitable for use in
a game, but you can learn some things from how it works.
