Well, I can tell you about my experiences with getting on to the internet
with _my_ //c. I had to use a null modem at 2400 bps (any faster and it would
start dropping characters), and a server with a UNIX shell. The software I
used was called Apple Conference Terminal, originally written so Apple //
users could access GEnie. (That was a LONG time ago!) It's freeware, now, and
you should be able to get it from Joe Kohn. joko@crl.com With this setup, I
was able to write and send email, talk on IRC, as well as read the usenet.
(With a little effort, you should also be able to post to the usenet and
download software off of ftp sites.) Best of all, I got to show my
smarty-pants brother that I *could* get on the internet with just an Apple
//c.
