IIgs Newbie Q's (yes I read the FAQ's)

Hi. I recently purchased a IIgs system at eBay, and am anticipating it's 
arrival. I don't know the hardware specifics, yet. Right now, I am concerned 
with the OS. Is System 6.0.1 currently the most recent revision?  The system I 
am getting doesn't come with any software, so I am having to start from 
scratch. Do any of the vendors still sell the complete package of the latest OS 
with manual(s)?

Sorry for all the questions. I've done a few hours of research, and still 
haven't found what I need to know, so this is my next option.
