     Scantron Quality Computers (800-777-3642; http://www.sqc.com ) used
to sell a IIgs Sys 6.0.1 + manual package for about $30. They no longer
advertise Apple II products; but, there is a decent chance some of the
packs are still in stock. Alltech (760-724-2404; http://allelec.com )
sells just the Sys 6.0.1 diskettes $7.95.

While a Sys 6 manual, especially the one supplied with the SQC
package, is nice to have, it is not all that critical. If you can get
one, fine; if not, it's no big deal.

To get System 6 running expect to invest in a 4MB Expansion RAM
card and hard disk. (If the GS you bought is a pre-ROM-01 model, you
will also need the ROM-01 upgrade from Alltech--$29.)

Probably the quickest, easiest System 6.0.1 setup is to get an 80MB
or 120MB Focus HardCard drive from Alltech with System 6.0.1 installed +
a Serius 4MB Expansion RAM card.
