Compatibility Problem?

   I have a Laser 711 3.5" disk drive which is supposed to be 'Apple'
compatible.  The question is IIGS/IIc+ or Macintosh?

   Anyone familiar with this drive.  Hooking it to a MacPlus causes it to
want to format all disks, even good ones; halfway through formatting, it
ejects the disks and declares them bad even though they're good.

   I didn't want to try hooking it to a GS for fear of blowing out
something on the GS.
