On two occasions, I've had Laser 3.5 drives.   They have a nice feature
---- manual eject button.   So you can remove the disk even with power off
---- no paper clip needed!

I recall that it did not work on the IIC or on the IIgs, but it DID work
on the Laser Universal Disk Controller card (one of the finest cards ever
made!).

I do not recall the IIc or the IIgs being damaged by the connection to the
drive.  If the IWM chip had blown, that would have been a memorable
outcome!
