Well... if not classify as freeware or public domain, then...as I brought up
before..perhaps these companies could release them as a retro package for use
in emulation..... The popularity of emulation is growing considerably...along
with the technology. For example:
Let's say Electronic Arts puts out a retro package....a CD with emulator disk
images of titles such as Archon...Realm of Impossibility...Lords of
Conquest...etc..with disk images for C64, Apple II, Atari 800 emulators. The
booklet could contain pictures of the original packaging along with program
history..etc. I think this kind of thing could sell. You could even
transfer the images back to 5 1/4 disk if you want....you would be owning a
legitimate copy anyhow. It would be a nice piece of gaming and computing
history. Other compaines have already done this with coin-op games for
systems like the Playstation. ...Well it makes sense to me...although
reclassification would be great! It would be a great way to preserve these
excellent titles in an informative and legal way! Let me know what you
think....I suppose it dosen't hurt to ask!
Take care..
