Help! Incoming e-mail lost in "black hole."

For the past eight days, my 550 messages in the in-box have vanished, and
my usual 20-30 new messages and spam messages have not arrived.

I can read newsgroups normally , just no incoming e-mails!

Could somebox send an e-mail to my address, then report as an appended
message to this posted memo whether the message bounced or was forwarded?

If the message got forwarded, could you report to me the address to which
it was sent??

Its really aggravating to lose all this e-mail.  I _suspect_ that either
(a) my e-mail is being forwarded/stolen,  or (b) My son, with his IBM
clone, accidentally set up a forwarding command to his hot-mail account.
