  Are you sure? He is quit a thinker and an even better writer, but I think his
formal education is in another field.

David Munch was the key player in Viking but unfortunatley died in a climbing
accident before the landing. Sagan was a looney fired by Harvard who was
invited by Drake to come to Cornell where the two formed the Laboratory for
Plantary Resasearch. From there on it was apparently a PR buisiness with Sagan
copyrighting and trademarking his name. My firends who went to grad school at
Cornell in Astrophysics never laid eyes on him.

The data on the vikings that gives a map of how to get here and if we are good
to eat was very controversial.

I hadn't belittled them (yet). Can you find any science in their books? Or are
they books ABOUT science? Did they publish much that wasn't opinion?
