Software is one of the most inexpensive, yet and purest, things that can be

guess what happened: Gates and company somehow cheated and lied their way to
discouraging potential customers to buy the product. Either that, or they

The cost of production of software may be miniscule compared to the cost
of programmers time for developement. Charging $1000 for some software may 
be a real bargin in some situations. If you have a specific use for your
computer
$1000 could be really cheap compared to hiring someone to develope a program
just for your situation. However we are concerned here with Apple II series of 
computers and the comercial value of any Apple II software that approached 
this valve is certainly long gone.
