Tom, you seem to be the only one who makes sense, so I'll answer you:

Nope. The actual copyright on v5.1 (but not ownership of the program) is with
Quality, plus portions copyright by the authors themselves. To read the
copyright, rename the file SEG.RM to something else (this is only if you are
using a IIGS). When the program boots, it will stall on the copyright screen,
so you can read it. Similar copyrights appear in the manual. Nowhere does it
say "Apple," although all of it comes under a complicated licensing agreement
with Apple, who still owns the program (actually was Claris at the time).

Yes, it is. In fact, we are STRONGLY encouraging anyone who intends to buy or
update to AW5.1 legally to do so now, before they are sold out. Some of my
customers have done so in the last week. We don't know what is going to happen
when they sell out. They may manufacture more (it's a matter of printing
manuals, I believe). They may not.

> (D) None of the AW or TO's now archived as emulator disk images on Asimov
appear to be available for retail sales from their copyright holders.

The Beagle Bros products have been sold out since January, as has been reported
in the TEXAS II newsletter. We have contacted Beagle Bros several times since
then to see what could be done. For example: one very positive thing that could
be done is to release the updated TO versions for AppleWorks 5.1, instead of 
the complex updating process for 3.0 to 5.1, which must be done by the user. We
got several responses of "We are looking into it."  We keep trying.
