Most (if not all) half height clone Disk ][ drives are 40 track.

On one of my //e computers I run a Super 5 drive at 40 tracks without
patches to ProDOS - it is plugged into a 3.5/5.25 controller with a patched
ROM. If you just patch the ProDOS Disk ][ driver you also have to patch
whatever program you use to format the diskettes (ie FILER). This is all
documented in Beneath Apple ProDOS (although my copy has an error in those
instructions).
