Yes, and there's another reason why you shouldn't use 1-bit sound on a
GS: You don't know what the clock speed is! There are Apples that run at
1 MHz, 2.8 MHz, 3.5 MHz, 4, 6.25, etc. and it's impossible to calculate
this from Basic. So you'll never know what the sound will sound like.
As for the Ensonic chip, I believe I know someone who once wrote a set
of machine language interface routines which let you access the Sound
Toolset from within Applesoft Basic. So I'll check if I can contact him
and ask him if he'll release those routines into the public domain.
