Hi,
 I do not beleive it will work on the IIgs even if you have the software
for it. It will work on the IIe and II+. When they made the IIgs they
eleminated the strobe off the joystick pin outs. 
 The Kola Pad was one of the few or only one that I know of that needed
that input.
