I'd suggest buying GBBS/ACOS (A Crappy Operating System -- TC Wilson) then 
looking for a copy of MACOS (TC Wilson's far superior hacked version of ACOS
that added a *lot* of extra functionality)...

METAL was a superior system and language, but I don't know what its status
is... last I heard TC was doing a mac port, but I don't know what came of it.

...I bet I still have some old .seg's sitting around from my days as a co-sys...
