Your news server is way out of date.  comp.sys.apple is the original
Apple II discussion group, that was recreated as comp.sys.apple2 before
I started reading news (which was about 1989).  The original group was
deleted, and this should have propogated to all news servers.  Ask your
ISP to remove it.

(The main reason comp.sys.apple2 was created was because there was too
much off-topic Macintosh discussion in comp.sys.apple - it seems that
the situation hasn't improved much!)
