Parallel file transfer?

I need to transfer some very old files from my sister's Apple II to her
newer PC.

Although the FAQ has details of using a serial connection to transfer files
from an  Apple II to a PC, this machine does not have a serial port.

It occurs to me that I could send the files out the printer port (they are
text type files), and into the PC, *IF* I were able to capture them on the
parallel port of the PC.

Does anyone out there know if there is such a program around? I have
searched but never seen such a thing.
