It could be a problem with the other computer's modem.  Did you try
to call from a third computer?

If your modem is the problem, most likely you need to input a new
initialization string to increase the timeout for connect.  I don't have
the AT codes with me right now, but I'll try to look them up...in the
meantime, does anyone else (on csa2) know the right code?
