Actually, I have been following this thread, and Josh does not make any
sense.  I believe that this is why Jermey may have responded in a manner
that could be taken as irate.  I agree with you that Linux could definately
use more software.  Windows has the most, by far, but remember, that alot
of the software for Windows is sh*t too.  As for Josh, the man sat here
and spat crap about there not being the software that _he_ wants, which
is fine.  He included in one of his posts a grand list of software, stating
that he didn't need any of that, and where were the office suites?  Too bad
for him the list he _quoted_ had StarOffice in it (this may or may not suit
him, but he said that he could find _no_ office suites at that time).  Next,
he went on to state that MS should port Office to Linux, and then he would
use it.  After that, he tried saying that if they had _any_ office suite,
which was a big name, he would use it.  The only office suite the man wants
is MS Office x, so that is fine.  Let him use Windows, but not rant about
there not being office suites available.

Half the crap in the MS office suite is pure and total unnecessary sh*t.  The
only real exception, and usable program at all in that suite is Excel, and you
can find other things that will do the task, but I must admin, Excel is a very
decent spreadsheet program.

The real problem here is your idea of a basic productivity app.  I barely
touch any type of illustration program, and yet I am very productive.  I
don't think anyone here is saying that you must use Linux, or that you would
be better off with it.  The fact is that it is a much better OS then Windows
or MacOS, but that does not mean that it would be better for _you_.  If
someone says that you must use something, or must not, then that person is not
worth the time of day.  You and Josh are saying that Linux is crippled because
it would not be the best choice for you right now.  Good.  Stick with Windows.
Linux is gaining share, and the more people who use it, the better it will
get.
