Rom 3 ROM

I just picked up another Rom 3 IIgs and noticed that one of the
ROMs was an Eprom. On examining it I realized the other ROM
socket could be replaced with a longer Eprom socket. This led me
to speculate on updating the ROMs. It would be nice having the
System 6.0.1 toolset in ROM and not have to load them every time.
Has anyone attempted this upgrade?
