All I can say is that the QuickDraw Speedtest runs slightly faster on
Bernie with ROM 3 than with ROM 01 (under System 6.01). Bernie makes no
difference between executing code in ROM or RAM in terms of speed, so I
guess there must be some other trick that makes ROM 3 machines a little
faster.
