Alright... lets examine a previous posting of Nathan with regards to you
[It was in response to Rubywand (or Rubywanker as Nathan so dearly loves to
call him) giving a veiled example of the illegality of using work equipment
to post slanderous material. Naturally Nathan took it mean him... heaven
know why ;-)]

Yes, just like the last time you tried to annoy the webmaster where
I work with more glowing rants that really show off your lack of
brains. Peter's got better things to do than suffer fools like you,
but could use *far* more four letter words than I would describing you
if you tried to push it. And, as was brought up the last time Spudboy
Mentzer tried to threaten companies, it's kinda illegal to threaten a
company across state lines, so be sure some of those "deep pockets"
don't decide you're the one that needs to be in an insane asylum.

So we have Nathan
1) calling everybody who complains about him fools, and then makes a thinly
veiled statement that if we try reporting his abuses, not only will you
a) ignore it, but you will b) Start flaming us and/or attacking our
reports
ROTFL about him saying you'd use more insults the he would... considering
his track record, if you tried to outdo him in swearing you wouldn't have
time to actually say anything ;-)
2) Claims he is safe from legal consequences, since he's 'over the state
line'... whatever that's meant to mean in the murky legalities of the US.
3) Intimates that we'd have to sue him/the company to get him disciplined.
Considering the length of time he's been using the visi account to post
slanderous material (and I'll point out once again, that 1) slander is
illegal, 2) Nathan knows it's illegal, 3) he doesn't give a shit) without
you, as the system admin doing anything about it, would make even the
greenest newbie suspect that there's some sort of "back-scraching" between
you two, or at least an agreement to turn the blind eye.
If you really want to demonstrate yourself as a responsible admin, why don't
you just admit Nathan's been acting illegally (slander IS illegal) and ban
his internet access for a while... or his account. Or simply block access
to comp.sys.apple2 from his newsreader for a while.
