Nothin Copulates continues to rant, on and on and on and on....

Yes Nothin, piracy is the illegal copying of copyrighted software. Yes,
copyrights are just as you say. Is Rubywand a pirate for pointing out that a
copy of a program exists somewhere...NO! If he copies it, then he is a pirate.
Now Mr. Morals, I have a question for you....
Lets say that an individual, who will remain nameless, slanders and defames
someone without proof. Sure, if he gets sued by someone for this he probably
won't have to pay much if he or she doesn't have much. However, when a person
uses a company computer during work hours to slander and defame, that
individual becomes an agent for the company. So, if someone was to post a
slanderous remark at 2:30pm while that individual was working for a company on
their equipment, the company could & probably would be held liable along with
their agent (the poster) for damages. Companies have "deep pockets", just as an
attorney. The time of the posting is usually well documented online and in
archives. I realize that ISPs do not have that type of control over a poster,
however, companies who hire an employee do. Oh, and usually companies have
strict policies about using their equipment for personal gain or use. A person
who would post rants, defamation and slander would, in fact be stealing the
resources of the company. Isn't that true? Where am I going with this? No
where... I just thought I'd pose the question to such an intelligent programmer
as yourself....
