Copyright violations are copyright violations whether the owner has
spoken up or not-- it is NOT the responsibility of the owner to hire
people to troll for violations, it is the responsibility of the public
to behave themselves in accordance with the law, something that is
unfortunately not the case here. Copyrights last for the author's life
*plus* 70 years, unless explicitly changed by them under the Berne
convention (to which the US is signatory) Thus, for every title that
was once commercial and has not been verified and proven to be
changed, it is *still* copyrighted, and it is just as much piracy and
theft to copy it today as when it was first printed.

You are further putting a patantly false position forward that the
copyright holder must protest or it's not piracy-- that's wrong. It is
just as much piracy if you copy something for a friend at home (where
the publisher cannot be present to object) or if you pirate over the
net. It is the responsibility of people to be sure they're legally
entitled to copy something BEFORE making it downloadable, not the
reverse.

No, it was you who was proven there to be the public liar after
being unable to explain why the buggy ROM code was Wolfenstein's
fault, despite being challenged to do so many times, given the exact
locations in ROM. It's you that cannot deal with the truth, it's you
who repeats lies many times hoping that others will believe them, and
it's you who ran away from the discussion, unable to deal with the
fact that the bug was in ROM. And it's you who showed your utter hate
for developers in trying to blame and destroy those who create, simply
because all you can do is steal and lie, and you hate that.

No, once again, you're the liar who keeps claiming that things are
legal, while others present proof out of copyright law and challenge
you to detail exactly where in the copyright law that allows you to
claim that things are no longer copyrighted-- WITHOUT the author being
involved. Once again, like the ROM bugs issue, you're the one who's
claiming all kinds of lies and mistruths, and you cannot produce real
proof for your assertations. You are the liar, you are the pirate, you
need to change your opinions as they are flat out wrong. Or, you can
keep in your fantasy world, but the truth is out that you're the thief
and the liar, and that nobody should trust you until your beliefs are
in line with the law.

Running away from the issue, are we? Illegality is wrong whether
the original publisher has the time and money to scout out all
violations or not. Most companies are too busy currently getting
things out than to clean up all the theft of what remains behind, yet
that's still wrong to pirate. Since you cannot *prove* that this is
not piracy, all you can do is take the copout that "it's not caught
yet." Sorry, you lose, you're a liar: asimov is piracy and you're
apparently too mentally deranged to let a few facts like copyright law
bring you back to reality. Seek professional help before any company
objects to you specifically recommending piracy and makes you liable,
as you are.
