I learned of its existance from Charlie Springer, who worked at Apple
opposite Dave Lyons and Matt Deatherage.

Its prety simple. Same instruction set architacture as 6502 (one address, or as
they say now days, " load store" ), processor status flags match 6502, built in
barrel shifter, 16 registers (32 if you count supervisor set meant for OS use)
and very fast interrupt response. Super fast 6502 emulation.

Charlie Springer (regnirps@aol.com) can tell you more about it. It
apparently was designed for ease of 6502 emulation. Charlie
Springer, who worked at Apple at the time in question, wrote about
the ARM powered A2 prototype that could have changed the world
(and possibly provided an A2 to "Mac" GUI transition computer) that
was voted down by Jobs and his management....it is the missing
link and one that Jobs could not tolerate (his ego, you know)...
