     It does kind of sound that way. The Mac page was pretty concerned
about the formatting warning; but, if non-Iomega-Tools formatting a Zip
disk causes a Click-related Track Zero error, it seems like the Click of
Death should show up the first time the disk is used.

     Supposedly, not using the Iomega Tools to do a format over-writes a
Track Zero Bad Sectors record. How this might relate to 'the Click' is
unclear.

     Like you, I've re-formatted a couple Zip disks on the GS-- via the
RamFAST utils. They seem to work fine. Maybe there's something wrong
with the way a PowerMac or PC does a non-Iomega-Tools Zip disk format.

     Anyway, if our on-GS formatted Zip disks check out as okay under a
Verify and do not Click, there seems to be no good reason not to use
them.
