It has been over 20 years now that I have had to hear "We will bury
you!" or "Apple is dying/dead."
I am tired of it. I also note that most of the companies that said that
they would kill Apple are either not around or are much attenuated in
size compared to what they were and relative to Apple now. The list
includes such stalwarts as Commadore, Tandy, IBM (Personal computer
dividion) from the old days and I am sure that others can add more to
the list from their memories of the past few years.
Apple survives, but does not thrive due to poor management and abysmal
marketing. Apple still has a higher percentage of good solid reliable
well integrated machines than most other computer makers, and still has
the best user interface.
And yes, I have developed a sort of black humor about the continual
sniping at Apple.
And I will give Microsoft credit for Word 5.01, a great program.
