     After fighting through to 5-6 in Mission Zero, the boss was taken
on several times. This included running up to him and stabbing with a
knife-- by the way, this is _not_ a good idea! The game did not bomb
here under either the patched or original version. (When you are killed,
the screen freezes; but, this is not a bomb. You just click or press a
key to exit the screen and resume.)

     5-9 in Mission 5 has not been reached yet.

     So far, it looks like there may be something about your setup which
Wolf3D does not like. If you are using a Screen Saver, try removing it
from your Desk.Accs (or whatever) folder and rebooting. If Shift-booting
gets rid of the problem, the indication is that a Desk Accessory or INIT
is involved.

     Another option is to try installing the latest "GUPP" system
patches from Nathan. Possibly, some bug fix in the patches will
eliminate the boss bombs.
