That's right, Apple's supplied software only uses Apple's proprietary SCSI
calls for CD audio. All Apple single speed CD drives use these. That'd
include the CD SC, CD SC Plus, and CD150. Starting with the CD300, they
use the SCSI-2 audio calls, and the proprietary calls don't work. The
industry had caught up with Apple by that time; you see, when Apple started
making CD drives, no standards existed.
