If you use ProDOS-8 2.0 or later, you will be limited to 14 logical
ProDOS volumes over all drives, but only under ProDOS-8. Take one out
for /RAM, and two out for each other slot containing a disk controller
(usually one or two slots in the IIgs). This leaves nine partitions
accessible under ProDOS-8 in most cases (sometimes eleven).
GS/OS is limited to 64 partitions per driver, spread over all devices of
the same type (e.g. 64 partitions on all connected SCSI hard drives).
Assuming the Focus firmware supports 40 partitions, then you could
access all of them in GS/OS, whether they were ProDOS or HFS. (You
would have great difficulty finding all the icons on the Finder desktop,
of course!)
(ProDOS-8 1.9 and earlier will limit you to two partitions, unless the
Focus card is in slot 5 and it supports the mechanism used by ProDOS to
remap two additional partitions into slot 2.)
