Skyman 2001 card purpose . . .
Soon after purchasing my Apple //e last summer, I discovered a few cards
which did not have a recognisable purpose. The most interesting of the two
which remain unidentified is a "skyman 2001". This card has a bank of
four dip-switches and another bank of 19 pins.
The second board actually from an old Apple II clone which I cannibalized
for a number of interesting parts (since the machine just would not work
with diskette drives, oh well). The card has an RCA jack which would be
facing the keyboard when it is placed in the appropiate slot. It also has a
yellow cable with an alligator clip on the end, which is marked TP on the
main-board and was originally connected to the power supply. Given that
the board has some 26 chips, it is curious that each chip has its own
socket. A couple of the chips even have copper plated leads. The most
important chip seems t be a MC6845P.
Anyway, thanks for any help in identifying the purpose of these chips. Have
a good evening.
