Can a GS run IDE drives greater than 256MB?

Can the GS run IDE drives greater than 256MB in size?  Some years ago,
I remember a card called the Turbo IDE that interfaced the GS with IDE
drives, but it had a limit of 256MB per drive and a maximum of two drives
per card.  Are there any other controllers that break this limit?
