Re: Apple files to PC

I've got no problem transferring files from my PC (WinXP) to either my Mac or my IIGS.

Now I'm trying to transfer some files from the IIGS to the PC, and I'm stumped.

The files are catalogs of a bunch of IIGS volumes that I made with UtilityWorks. (A through Z plus a few more). I can write them to a HFS formatted disk (they're about 750 KB in total), but of course the PC can't read these. I can write them to a Zip disk, but the situation is the same.

I originally was going to write them to a PC formatted floppy on the Mac (using PC exchange), but something happens to each file and they are unreadable on the PC... show up as "0" size files.

I KNOW I've done this before, but I just can't remember how I did it.

Any suggestions?

Rich

OK! OK!
Figured it out.
File structure.

The PC couldn't figure out the file structure on the transfer disk.

I tried it again with each file in the root directory and they transferred just fine. (Some crazy file renaming as each system applied its own rules to each file.).

They open just fine in WordPad and I'm sure I'll be able to import them into Excel like I wanted.
