I just wouldn't recommend starting your bid at whatever the closing
bids from previous auctions were. Otherwise, you may get no bids at
all. For the auctions I have run, I started my minimum bids low
(ridiculously low in some cases, such as $5.00 minimum for an Atari
5200 Diagnostic cartridge). It didn't take long at all for the bid to
get up to a real real real nice level. :3
It's a gamble of course. There's a chance that you will get a low
price out of it; but it's a pretty good gamble.
