Well, Mitch, you've beaten me to the punch on practically every
question I was going to answer today so I thought I'd add a little bit
to this one. :-)

Marinetti has a couple other programs for it at present. Geoff Weiss
wrote Ping, Finger and Whois applications. They are very basic and of
limited use, but they do exist.

Also, an XCMD for Spectrum v2.1 was written called Topcat. This
allows Spectrum to act as a much better Telnet application that
Richard's one that is included with Marinetti. The one thing I don't
think Topcat can do is open multiple Telnet connections simultaneously
like Richard's Telnet.

This XCMD also allows people using Crock O' Gold, an offline message
reader for Delphi, to do connect to Delphi through a telnet connection
to retrieve and post messages and files.

The XCMD can also be used by any script for Spectrum so anyone who
wants to write some scripts for doing telnet connections, like auto
logging onto a telnet BBS, can do so.
